What determines a person's attitude?
The attitude of a person is determined by psychological factors like ideas, values, beliefs, perception, etc. All these have a complex role in contributing to a person's attitude. Values are ideals, guiding principles in one's life, or overarching goals that people strive to obtain.
Attitudes have three components: Cognitive, affective, and behavioral intentions.

Despite these early views, attitudes do not always predict behavior. Often, people express positive attitudes toward an activity, yet admit that they seldom engage in the activity (Ajzen & Fishbein, 1977, 1980).
Values influence your behavior because you use them to decide between alternatives. Values, attitudes, behaviors and beliefs are cornerstones of who we are and how we do things. They form the basis of how we see ourselves as individuals, how we see others, and how we interpret the world in general.
