Why do we pray before exams?
Prayer for Preparation to Study
Give me insight that I might understand what I am studying, and help me to remember it when the time comes.
Prayer helps in better decision making
Prayer is a way to teach children to turn to God for wisdom and guidance. It helps to remind the young minds each day that they must bring their concerns and worries to God so that they gain clarity on the situation in a relaxed moment of prayer.
Prayer is important because it helps us to stay close to God. When we pray, we are opening up our hearts to Him and He is able to work in us and through us. Prayer also helps us to grow in our relationship with God. The more we talk and spend time with someone the more we get to know them.
God, our loving Heavenly Father, wants us to communicate with Him through prayer. He always listens to us when we pray. Daily prayer can bless you, your family, and those you pray for. It can also invite more peace into your life, help you learn more about God's plan for you, and more.
Traditionally we pray to a higher power or god for things of necessity and want. Prayer cultivates an attitude of humility and acceptance, and establishes our relationship with the source in the right manner. It creates a feeling akin to that of a baby cradled in its mother's arms.
adoration - praising God for his greatness and admitting dependence on him. confession - owning up to sin and asking for God's mercy and forgiveness. thanksgiving - thanking God for his many blessings, eg health or children.
Any time you want or need to talk with God, that's when you should pray. Any place you need to feel the influence of His love, that's where you should pray. You don't have to wait for the perfect time or place (or the perfect you). Just pray.
10. Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV– Do not worry about your exams, trust in God. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
For students, taking an exam, especially
I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts.” “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.”
St Joseph of Cupertino is, yes, you guessed it, the Patron Saint of taking tests and of students. He is also the Patron Saint of Aviation, Astronauts and the Mentally Handicapped.
How do you pray for good exam results?
Grant me grace in the eyes of the examiners and help me to get through my exams successfully. Lord, bless my feeble efforts and let me receive abundant blessings from Your hand. I know You will answer my prayer positively because You are the Lord who perfects everything for me.
